Privacy Policy
Last updated: April. 19, 2026
Neon Shard (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use Neon Shard (the “Game”).
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to make a privacy request about the Game, contact us at josh@jandjgames.net.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account and sign-in information
Our Game uses Unity Authentication and Unity Player Accounts to let players create an account and sign in. When you use Unity Player Accounts, Unity processes the email address used for account creation and generates a unique Unity Player Account ID. Unity Authentication also generates a PlayerID used to identify a player in the Game.
We do not ask you to enter your real name, mailing address, or phone number directly into the Game unless we specifically say otherwise.
B. Save data
We use Unity Cloud Save to store game save data in the cloud so your progress can persist across devices or reinstalls. This may include the save information created through gameplay, such as a JSON save object and related game progress or preferences tied to your player account. Unity’s Cloud Save documentation states that Player ID is collected for Cloud Save and that Cloud Save can store player-associated data chosen by the developer.
We may access Cloud Save data through Unity’s developer tools when reasonably necessary for support, troubleshooting, maintenance, security, or handling valid privacy or legal requests. Unity’s documentation states that Player Data can be viewed and edited in the Unity Dashboard.
C. Advertising data
We use Unity LevelPlay / ironSource to display ads in the Game. These advertising services may collect or process data such as device or other identifiers, approximate location, interaction with ads, advertising data, and performance or diagnostic data. Unity’s LevelPlay privacy materials also indicate that some of this data may be collected or shared for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance purposes.
2. How We Use Information
We use information collected through the Game to:
provide sign-in and account functionality;
save and restore game progress;
operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Game;
provide customer support and investigate bugs or abuse; and
serve, measure, and manage advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
The Game uses third-party services, including:
Unity Player Accounts / Unity Authentication
Unity Cloud Save
Unity LevelPlay / ironSource
These services may collect, process, or store information according to their own privacy notices and legal obligations. You can review Unity’s privacy policy here. Unity states that developers using Unity Player Accounts should link to Unity’s privacy policy from their own privacy policy.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. However, because the Game uses advertising services, information may be collected, processed, or shared by Unity LevelPlay / ironSource and related advertising partners for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance purposes. Depending on your region and applicable law, this may include processing associated with personalized advertising or tracking.
5. Data Retention
We keep game-related data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Game, maintain player progress, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Unity states that Unity Player Account data is generally retained until deletion while the account is active, and Cloud Save retention depends on the data stored for your game.
6. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
A. Requests about your game data
If you want to request access to, correction of, or deletion of game data that we control, contact us at josh@jandjgames.net. For example, you can contact us to request deletion of Cloud Save data associated with your use of the Game.
B. Requests about your Unity Player Account
Unity handles certain requests related to Unity Player Accounts directly. For Unity Player Account deletion, use the Unity Player Account deletion page. For Unity Player Account data disclosure or privacy requests, contact unity-player-login-privacy@unity3d.com. Unity also states that deleting a Unity Player Account does not automatically delete data associated with other integrated apps or services, so requests about game-specific data should still be sent to us.
C. Advertising choices
Where required by applicable law, we or our advertising partners may ask for consent before using certain advertising technologies or personalized advertising features. Unity’s LevelPlay documentation states that if consent is legally required, consent should be obtained before initializing third-party SDKs such as LevelPlay and ironSource.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
